If your phone screen is black but the device is still working, it likely has a damaged display or a loose connection. Here are some steps you can try at home to fix it:
1. Restart the Phone: Hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds to force a restart.
2. Check for Loose Connections: If you feel comfortable, you can open the back of the phone and ensure that the display connectors are securely attached. You may need a small screwdriver and possibly a guide specific to your phone model.
3. Soft Reset: For some phones, pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons together for about 10-20 seconds can reset the phone and potentially fix the display issue.
4. Inspect for Damage: Check the screen for any visible cracks or damage. If the screen is cracked, it may need to be replaced.
5. External Display: Connect your phone to an external display (like a TV) using an HDMI adapter or screen mirroring feature to see if you can access and backup your data.
6. Professional Repair: If these steps don't work, consider taking it to a professional repair shop.
If you're not comfortable with these steps or they don't work, professional repair is the safest option to avoid further damage.

yes , from the top of the phone .

While the glass may be cracked, check the corners carefully in the inner display of the screen. Usually there will be cracks in the corner if you can't find it.
