Attention Android Users: Get More iFixit On Your Phone

Got an Android? Want to share your repair knowledge with the world? Well, have we got news for you! We’ve added a bunch of new features to iFixit’s Android app. In addition to new mobile login/registration features, iFixit’s updated app now lets you upload photos from your Android phone or tablet. The pictures you take automatically synchronize with our site, so you always have access to images uploaded from your Android device and from your computer.

So, when you’re fixing that water heater, take some photos. They’ll sync to your web account, and the next time you’re at the computer you can make a guide out of them.

These new features make it easier to create new manuals and stay connected with iFixit’s repair community when you’re on the go. They’re also the first in a series of steps we’re taking to enable mobile guide creation.

We’d like to give a special thanks to our friends and fellow Cal Poly alumni at FireSwing Studios—a San Luis Obispo Android development studio—for their hard work in getting the update up and running.

Fix the world, one broken device at a time. Download the updated app on Google Play and start making some repair guides. As always, all of our apps are open-source and available on GitHub.
