Mother Jones Profiles iFixit

Posted on: October 3, 2012 at 12:26pm — By: Kyle

I only recently learned about Mother Jones, a nonprofit news magazine that specializes in investigative, political, and social justice reporting. They sent Dashka Slater out to visit us a while back. We don’t get visitors very often, so we were thrilled to show her what life is like around here.

Her profile is in the November issue (on newsstands now), and it just went online today. Perhaps more than any other story that’s been written about us, she captures our mission and why we do what we do. It’s worth reading.

Congratulations! You are an inspiration to all of us. Real resourcefulness begins with repair. Thanks for all You do for Earth. :)

I’d be real leery of affiliating with a very political organization like Mother Jones. iPhones and tech gear is apolitical, but Mother Jones is not. Why potentially alienate half your customers?

Hey Jeff,

iFixit has no political affiliation. Mother Jones reached out to us and asked to profile us, and we said sure. Alex Jones over at InfoWars has written about us in the past, and we were fine with that too.

We’re open minded. Repair is about fixing things. We don’t care who’s doing the fixing, or which side of the aisle they’re on. Just so things get fixed and people save money.

This is an excellent article. I do have to say that I am proud to be affiliate with ifixit, even so it is only in a small way.
